Handler: Deputy Mehnert

Deputy Mehnert has proudly served with the Denver Sheriff’s Department since 2003. In 2024, he was partnered with K9 Gage, a Belgian Shepherd, a dedicated explosives detection dog born in 2022. Together, Deputy Mehnert and K9 Gage work to ensure the safety of the community through diligent screening and response efforts. Their partnership represents a strong commitment to public safety and the vital role K9 units play in law enforcement.
