K9 Gunner

Handler: Deputy Nicholson

Deputy Nicholson has been with the Denver Sheriff's Department since 2016. He and his K9 partner Gunner have been working together since 2021 in the K9 Unit. Gunner's specialty is narcotics and he is also a member of the Emergency Response Unit of the Denver Sheriff Department. He is a Hungarian Vizsla, born September 2021.

We are currently working on increasing Gunner's stamina through a strength and conditioning program. Gunner's work environment is very unpredictable and challenging which requires him to be in optimum condition. Gunner has been fortunate to not have sustained any injuries to date. Our goals for Gunner are injury prevention and maximizing his overall fitness to exceed his daily activity requirements.
