K9 Paul

K-9 Paul is a German Shepherd who joined the sheriff’s office in 2015 and retired in 2023. He was certified as dual-purpose patrol/ narcotics detection canine and assigned to the SWAT team. During his career K-9 Paul assisted with the apprehension of numerous dangerous criminals and taking illegal substances off the street. K-9 Paul’s presence on scene would often lead to a suspect’s peaceful surrender. While at work K-9 Paul kept his handler and fellow deputies safe. K-9 Paul was fearless at work and loved his job.

K-9 Paul retired due to a torn ACL. After getting it repaired we did the recommended therapy with little results. Then a friend referred us to Stevan at Sierra Peaks. Stevan put together a program for K-9 Paul. Thanks to Stevan and his staff K-9 Paul is enjoying his retirement. People constantly comment on how well K-9 Paul gets around for his age.
