K9 Tuco

Handler: Deputy Uhrlaub

Deputy Uhrlaub has been with the Jefferson County Sherrif 's office since 2011 but involved with law enforcement for over 25 years. He is currently a handler and trainer. He and K9 Tuco have been working together since 2016. Tuco is a Dutch Shepherd, born in 2014 and certified in both patrol and narcotics. Tuco is one of the last remaining dogs in the Denver area trained on Marijuana, which is still illegal in schools and jails.

Tuco is showing the signs of an older dog and is recovering from a leg injury. We are currently working on improving his stamina and overall strength to keep him healthy and able to work.
